You came, you saw, you voted. Last night your rock ‘n’ roll Idols channeled the swagger of Jagger, but who would swim and who would sink like a stone?

The first Idol declared safe was the ever-dependable Wes, putting Luke in the Bottom Three for the first time. That meant he was back onstage with the gutsy, gravelly “Honky Tonk Woman”. Backstage with the ‘B3’ gang, Luke said he wasn’t surprised to be there – after all, at Final Six there were three in the top, and three in the bottom. A quick call from one of mates in Young, Bill, buoyed his spirits.

The second Idol declared safe was Chrislyn, putting Teale back in the Bottom Three for the very fifth time. Up for a second time proving he and the Stones get on like a house on fire, Teale strummed and sang the Number One hit, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”. A call-in fan, Kayla, told him to grow his hair longer, and asked him what kind of artist he saw himself as. He replied pop-rock with a dash of soul – “sprock”!

The last Idol singing for their life was Roshani, which meant the pocket rocket singer would be making up tonight’s Bottom Three. The judges went to town on poor Roshani last night, with Kyle making some particularly harsh comments about her song choice and outfit. After singing “Wild Horses” for the second time, Roshani stood her ground to an antagonistic Kyle, saying she loved the song and it was the right choice for her.

Marcia said it was a shame to see Luke in the Bottom Three while Dicko pointed out that as we were at Final Six, there was nowhere to hide. He went on to say Wes, Chrislyn and Mark delivered the strongest performances of the night, so Australia got it right. Kyle totally agreed.

But while some Idol’s performances weren’t good enough to send them straight to the Final Five, some definitely were – including Mark Spano. In fact, you loved his soulful version of “Angie” so much, it picked up the Performance and a Half award! Check it out on this here site (as soon as you finish reading this recap of course!).

As we waited for your final votes to be tallied, Wes showed us some sweet Michael Jackson moves, while Dicko told us last night was his fave show of the year, and very popular with the industry. We also had a look at your Idols special visit to Tamworth’s Ronald McDonald House.

The bar’s been set pretty high when it comes to Monday night’s guest performers, but tonight we didn’t just raise it, we smashed it out of the galaxy with none other than the delish Chris Brown, the hip-hop artist extraordinaire. He’s in town on tour with Rihanna, and dropped in to treat us to a live performance! Accompanied by black-and-white bedecked dancers, the man sizzled onstage. Check out our exclusive interview with him here on the website!

But down to da biz. The first Idol announced as safe was the bullet-dodging Teale! The Idol whose journey ended tonight was Roshani.

See you courtside for Michael Jackson night next Sunday! Billy Jean is not my lover… Woo!
